Barceloneta is an underground station on the Barcelona Metro . It is located in the Ciutat Vella district . The station is served by metro line 4 . You can change to 12 bus routes at the above-ground bus stop. There is also a connection to the R2 Sud line of Rodalies Barcelona at the Barcelona-França train station, which is around 500 meters away .
The metro station is named after the La Barceloneta district of the same name . It was put into operation in 1976 when the eastern extension of line 4 was opened. This was then extended from the Jaume I station to Barceloneta.
