Barnard 92

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Barnard 92 and Barnard 93 are two dense dark clouds in the constellation Sagittarius, which border the small Sagittarius cloud (Messier 24). Edward Barnard was able to prove it around 1915 through the long-term sky photography he developed .

The two clouds of interstellar dust form the northern edge of the star cloud , which allows a glimpse into the vicinity of the galactic center . They are much larger than the "flakes" of interstellar dust, which are usually around 25 light years in size.
