Baron Aberconway
Baron Aberconway , of Bodnant in the County of Denbigh , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom . The name of the title is derived from Aberconwy , the old Welsh name of the present day town of Conwy .
Award and subordinate titles
The title was created on June 21, 1911 for the industrialist and liberal politician Sir Charles McLaren, 1st Baronet . As early as August 8, 1902, he had been awarded the title of Baronet , of Bodnant, Gwylgre and Hilders, in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom , which has since been used as a subordinate title of the barony.
