Pierre Thillet

Pierre Thillet (born August 29, 1918 in Saint-Maurice-la-Clouère , † November 28, 2015 ) was a French historian of philosophy .

After attending school at the collège de Loudun , Thillet attended the Hypokhâgne and the Khâgne at the Lycée Louis-le-Grand , Paris . He finished first in the agrégation de philosophie in 1946. He was therefore allowed to choose his job and went to Tunisia . There he married in 1963 he received his doctorate in philosophy on 30 March 1948. and taught it at the University of Paris I . He was retired with the rank of professor.

In the wake of Henry Corbin , Thillet worked primarily on the oriental tradition of Aristotle and the Neoplatonists , in particular on Alexander of Aphrodisias .
