Baron Aylmer
Baron Aylmer , of Balrath in the County of Meath , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Ireland .
Award and subordinate titles
The title was awarded to Admiral Matthew Aylmer on September 18, 1758 . Today's title holder has been his great-great-great-great-great-grandson Julian Aylmer as the 14th baron since 2006 .
The father of the 1st Baron, Christopher Aylmer (around 1620-1671), was on November 6, 1662 in the Baronetage of Ireland the title of Baronet , of Balrath in the County of Meath, was awarded. When the line of descendants of the older brother of the 1st Baron died out in 1785, this title fell to the 7th Baron Aylmer and has since been a subordinate title of the respective baron.
