Baron Darcy of Nocton
Baron Darcy of Nocton (also D'Arcy of Nocton ) was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of England .
Award and history of the title
The barony was created on December 29, 1299 by King Edward I for Philip Darcy , Lord of Nocton in Lincolnshire , when he was called to the royal parliament by Writ of Summons .
On his death, his son Norman inherited the title of 2nd baron. He died in 1340 without ever being called to parliament, whereupon the title fell to his son Philip as 3rd Baron, who was still a minor when he died around 1350. The title then fell in Abeyance between the descendants of his aunts, the daughters of the 1st Baron.
