Baron Garvagh

Baron Garvagh , of Garvagh in the County of Londonderry , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Ireland .

The family seat of the barons was formerly Garvagh House near Garvagh in County Londonderry. The current baron lives in Little Bedwyn, Wiltshire .

Award

The title was created on October 28, 1818 for the House of Commons George Canning . He was a cousin of Prime Minister George Canning and the diplomat Stratford Canning, 1st Viscount Stratford de Redcliffe .

Today's title holder has been his great-great-great-grandson Spencer Canning as the 6th Baron since 2013 .
