Baron Hankey

Baron Hankey , of The Chart in the County of Surrey , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award

The title was awarded to Maurice Hankey on February 3, 1939 . From 1916 to 1938 he was secretary to all the governments of the United Kingdom. During the First World War he also served as secretary of the National Defense Council. After all, he made a significant contribution to the development of the first tanks .
