Baron Maguire

Baron Maguire , of Enniskillen , was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Ireland .

Award and expiration

On March 3, 1628, the title of King James I was created for the Gaelic-Irish chief by Fermanagh Sir Bryan Maguire .

His son, the 2nd baron , took part in the preparations for a Catholic uprising in 1641 , but was betrayed, arrested and executed on February 10, 1645 for high treason . His title was revoked and his lands confiscated from the Crown.
