Baron Palmer
Baron Palmer , of Reading in the County of Berks , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
Award
The title was created on June 24, 1933 for the businessman and patron Sir Ernest Palmer, 1st Baronet . He was the owner of the Huntley & Palmers biscuit factory , which is still owned by the family today. He was an important patron of music and sat on various committees of the Royal College of Music .
The first baron had already been awarded the title Baronet , of Grosvenor Crescent in the City of Westminster on January 26, 1916 . This title, which belongs to the Baronetage of the United Kingdom , is used as a further title by the respective baron as a subordinate title.
