Baron Robertson of Oakridge

Baron Robertson of Oakridge , of Oakridge in the County of Gloucester , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Award and subordinate titles

The title was created on June 29, 1961 for Sir Brian Robertson, 2nd Baronet . He was a famous military man who, among other things, had been a member of the Allied Control Council in Germany. He also headed the British Transport Commission for many years, which summarized state public transport, including ports and inland waterways.

The 1st Baron had inherited the title of Baronet , of Welbourne in the County of Lincoln , from his father, Field Marshal William Robertson , who had been Chief of the Imperial General Staff from 1915 to 1918 , which he received on October 4, 1919 in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom was awarded. The baronet title is now a subordinate title of the respective baron.
