Baron Seymour of Trowbridge was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of England .

The territorial dedication of the title refers to the town of Trowbridge in Wiltshire .

Award

The title was created on February 19, 1641 by Letters patent from King Charles I for Francis Seymour . He came from the noble Seymour family and was a younger son of Edward Seymour, Lord Beauchamp and great-grandson of the 1st Duke of Somerset .

The 3rd Baron inherited on April 29, 1675 from his second uncle the title of 5th Duke of Somerset , as well as the subordinate titles of 5th Earl of Hertford , 5th Baron Seymour and 5th Baron Beauchamp .

On February 7, 1750, with the death of his nephew, the 7th Duke , the baronies of Seymour of Trowbridge and Beauchamp, as well as the Earldom of Hertford, became extinct.
