Baron Tailboys
Baron Tailboys , of Kyme, was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of England .
Award and history of the title
The title was bestowed on Sir Gilbert Tailboys by King Henry VIII on December 1, 1529 . In 1519 he had married Elizabeth Blount , a former mistress of Henry VIII, he was a distant descendant of the last Baron Kyme .
His two sons, the 2nd and 3rd Baron, and his daughter, the 4th Baroness, who was married to Thomas Wymbish, of Nocton († 1552), and Ambrose Dudley, 3rd Earl of Warwick († 1589), stayed childless, so that the Barony Tailboys became extinct with the death of the latter on September 21, 1538.
