The Cuevas (caves) in the Barranco de los Grajos ( German  Gorge of the Crows ) are northeast of Cieza in the region of Murcia in Spain . The Sierra de Ascoy or Acoy rises near the city.

The caves in the gorge are home to cave paintings in the post-Paleolithic style, also known as the naturalistic or Levantine style of the Spanish east coast . The dance scene is one of the most complex to be discovered in this style, not only because of the diversity of the gestures of the male and female dancers, but also because of the variety of elements depicted.

The rock carvings were created between the Paleolithic and the Copper Age (10,000–4,000 BC), and research generally assigns them to the Neolithic . The rock paintings and petroglyphs of the Spanish Levant have been found under abrises and in caves ( Cova Fosca ). The figurative motifs are usually painted on limestone , mostly in red, black and white. One feature is the schematic style of the characters and the intensity of the scenes depicting the hunt or ritual.

Some caves were not only visited in the Paleolithic. Like the Cova de l'Or and the Cova Fosca cave, they were used during the Neolithic and as burial caves during the Copper Age .
