Barry Hugman

Barry J. Hugman (* 1941 ) is a British sports author who works in the field of English football as well as boxing and their statistical analysis.

Life

Hugman first completed an economic education and pursued a civil profession for several years before he devoted himself to the statistical analysis of English football. Initially, the focus was on recording all players who had played in English League football since the game was resumed after the Second World War . He later expanded his work to include other areas of English football and also recorded boxing statistics. In particular, since the 1980s he has been publishing annual yearbooks for both sports with statistics from the previous year. He is editor of the annual The PFA Footballers 'Who's Who , formerly known as The Official PFA Footballers' Factfile , and The British Boxing Board of Control Boxing Yearbook .
