Bartatua
Bartatua , also Partatua ( Assyrian P / Bar-ta-tu-a; ancient Greek Προτοθύης Protothýes ) was a Scythian king in the 7th century BC. Chr.
According to an Assyrian text, King Asarhaddon questioned in 672 BC The oracle of the sun god Šamaš , whether Bartatua would be a reliable ally if he gave him one of his daughters for marriage as requested.
Bartatua is identical to the Scythian king Protothyes mentioned by Herodotus , the father of Madyes .
