Basic Principles for the Treatment of Prisoners

The Basic Principles for the Treatment of Prisoners were adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations and promulgated by resolution 45/111 of December 14, 1990.

Article 1 is intended to protect human dignity, Article 2 to protect against discrimination.
