The Basilique Ste-Marie , also Basilica of Lubumbashi , is a Roman Catholic church in Lubumbashi , the capital of the Haut-Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo . It stands on a hill in the southern part of Kenya at the intersection of Avenue de la Basilique and Avenue de la Mission. This is followed by the St Marie school center.

The central building on a square floor plan with an octagonal dome was built in the 1950s. In 2000, Pope John Paul II elevated the church to a minor basilica .
