Bastiampillai Anthonipillai

Bastiampillai Anthonipillai ( Father Thomas ; born March 7, 1886 in Padiyanthalvu near Jaffna ( Sri Lanka ); † January 26, 1964 ) was the religious of the Oblate Missionaries .

In 1907 Anthonipillai entered the order of the Oblates and chose the order name Thomas.

He was ordained a priest in 1912 and was in poor health throughout his life. He founded the first contemplative religious community in Asia, the Rosarians . He died in a reputation for holiness.
