Battery Council International

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Battery Council International ( BCI ) is an American Management Association and the lobbying by manufacturers of original equipment - and Aftermarket - car batteries and other lead-acid batteries . Its headquarters are in Chicago , USA.

He promotes the recycling of lead-acid batteries and claims that, ultimately, almost all car batteries are recycled.

After the Ecology Center, Environmental Defense and the Clean Car Campaign published a 2003 report calling for the elimination of lead-based car batteries, BCI issued a press release objecting to the report's conclusions.

The trade association provides industry standards for testing, dimensions, and sizes of lead-acid batteries and provides templates for legislation that promote the recycling and safe use of lead-acid battery products for motor vehicles.

He also organizes regular conferences and meetings.

In August 2017, Battery Council International launched "Essential Energy Everyday", a joint initiative with the International Lead Association to raise awareness of the importance of lead-acid batteries as a key resource for sustainable, essential, reliable and safe energy sources and storage.
