Battuta (fencing)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Battuta , also called Klingenschlag in German , is a technical term from fencing . It denotes a short blow against the front third (weakness) of the opponent's blade with the middle part of your own blade. The movement is carried out using the fingers, the wrist can easily move with it. Unlike the parade , which serves to ward off enemy attacks, the Battuta is a preparation for one's own attack . The Battuta causes a brief deflection of the opponent's blade, which, if the fencing speed is correct, a safe attack can take place.
