Peasant linen

Farmer's linen , also known as farmer's canvas , is a fabric made of linen that has been woven with heavy yarns in a mostly irregular manner . The linen yarns were previously spun from flax fibers . Due to the manual production, the yarns were created in different thicknesses. In the century before last, weaving was mainly done by the peasants and maids in the winter months. The coarse farm linen was mainly used to make bed linen , but also table linen . Farm linen is very strong. As a result, it was the only boil-proof woven fabric for centuries.
