The building site conference with the accompanying " Geotechnical Engineering " exhibition has been held every two years since 1952 .

It is one of the major construction industry conferences in Germany and represents the entire field of geotechnical engineering. The organizer is the German Society for Geotechnics . V. (DGGT).

The building site conference will be held in different cities in Germany. The contents of the conference are current topics from the entire field of geotechnical engineering.

The main event takes place on two days, on which recognized experts present a scientifically high-level lecture program in front of a broad specialist audience from Germany and abroad. The third day is reserved for technical excursions to interesting building projects in the host city and its surroundings.

The main lecture event has been preceded by the special session "Forum for young geotechnical engineers" since 1994, which offers young post-graduate and graduate geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists the opportunity to present their research results from universities and practice to experts.

The presentations at the building site conference will be published in a conference volume.
