The Baule dagger is a dagger made by the Baule in Ivory Coast .

description

The Baule dagger usually has a curved, broad, double-edged blade. The handle is usually made of wood. The blade and handle shapes vary, however. The sheaths are made of leather and decorated with the shells of the prickly oysters ( clamshells ). The dagger is not primarily used as a weapon , but for ceremonial purposes.
