Building and object coaters

The building and object coater is a recognized German apprenticeship in the craft. In Austria the comparable profession is called “painter and coating technician”.

Building and object coaters design and clad both the inside and outside surfaces of buildings and objects of all kinds. Most of the work takes place in the painting and varnishing trade. Building and property coaters are also required in the dry construction, plastering and facade construction sectors. Other tasks include working on interior walls, coating railings or applying corrosion protection.

education

The training to become a building and object coater takes two years and takes place both in the vocational school and in the company. As part of the training, the handling of a wide variety of materials and tools as well as contact with customers is taught. Those who would like to specialize further after the two-year training can do so by extending the training by 12 months to become a painter and varnisher.

  • 585 € in the first year of training
  • € 635 in the second year of training.
