It is based on the law on the collection of Bavarian state law (BayRSG) of November 10, 1983. Originally, the annex to the BayRSG together with the publication of the provisions listed in the annex gave the legal status in Bavaria as of January 1, 1983.

All laws not listed in the Annex expired on December 31, 1983. Of these, however, were particularly treaties , agreements and specific statutes exempt. The regulations mentioned in the annex were now valid throughout the entire area of the Free State of Bavaria, unless otherwise expressly regulated.

On the basis of this collection, the laws that continue to apply have been published in a revised version. The spelling and expression has been adapted to the applicable rules; however, this did not apply to the constitution . Outline numbers were introduced. Abbreviations and abbreviations were used as far as they were previously in use.

Laws are designated by abbreviations such as BayRS 2250-1-I for the Bavarian press law.
