The Bavarian Realschullehrerverband is an advocacy group for Realschule teachers in Bavaria who work at state, municipal and private Realschulen in Bavaria.

The association, based in Munich , was founded in 1952. The aim is to articulate and effectively represent the school-type-specific concerns of the teaching staff at the middle and later secondary school, which was newly developed after the Second World War . One of the major changes that the association has contributed to in the past is the introduction of the six-level secondary school in Bavaria. The association speaks out in favor of the structured school system and bases this on the success of the Bavarian schools compared to other federal states with comprehensive schools . In the Bavarian Realschule Teachers Association, 80% of the teachers at Realschulen in Bavaria are organized today.

The association's tasks are:

  • the representation and promotion of the professional political interests of its members
  • dealing with all matters relating to the profession
  • influencing the design of the education system with special consideration of the Realschule
