The Bavarian State Aerial Center (BayLLZ) is adAisch a department of the Office for digitization, broadband and surveying Neustadt. This consists of the Bayerisches Landesluftbildarchiv (BayLLA) and a permanent exhibition that is currently being set up. In addition, the BayLLZ offers professional advice and ordering options on the subject of aerial photos.

Bavarian State Aerial Photo Archive

In 1975 the Bavarian State Surveying Office - today's State Office for Digitization, Broadband and Surveying - housed the state aerial photo archive. It currently bears the name Bayerisches Landesluftbildarchiv (BayLLA) and is still used today to store and secure original aerial photographs and contact copies of the Bavarian surveying administration.

The BayLLA houses a unique and extensive collection of aerial photographs. The archive currently contains over a million recordings of the Free State of Bavaria, including a total of around 950,000 analog and around 440,000 digital aerial photographs. With this collection, the BayLLA is one of the largest archives of its kind in Germany. The oldest photographs are from 1941 and were taken by the Allied forces. The latest pictures are up to date and were taken during the Bavaria flight.

The archiving of the analog image stock takes place in Neustadt adAisch, the storage of the digital copies in Munich.

The recordings can be viewed and purchased by authorities, municipalities and (universities) schools, the press, as well as companies and private individuals.

Permanent exhibition

The permanent exhibition is currently under construction.

Aerial photo distribution

In the BayLLZ, official aerial photos and first recordings of all of Bavaria can be researched and ordered during the opening times and by appointment.
The public distribution platform GeodatenOnline of the Bavarian Surveying Administration offers another option for ordering aerial photos.
