Bayern-Netz-Natur is a state-wide biotope network in Bavaria .

In 2017, the network included over 400 biotopes , including the species-rich moors in the Alpine foothills , the barren dry grasslands of the Franconian Alb and mountain meadows of the Rhön .

history

In 1984, with the Species and Biotope Protection Program (ABSP), a comprehensive nature protection concept was created in Bavaria for the first time. In 1986 the first project was started on the Saillingbach in the Kelheim district. In July 1995 the Bavarian State Government announced the "creation of a state-wide network of biotopes" as a goal of Bavarian environmental policy.
