The Commissioner for Public Relations (BOE) is the relief organization for public relations responsible and as a member of the OV-rod into the internal flow of information of the local group involved. The BÖ supports the local officer in all publicity measures.

These measures include:

  • the helper advertising ;
  • Contact with the local mass media ;
  • Press work and participation in publications for internal and external media;
  • Organization of target group-oriented presentations (lectures, advertising and information events), in particular topic selection, process design, moderation and guest care.

He is also responsible for the documentation and archiving of campaigns (missions, anniversaries, exercises, etc.) within the local association.

For these activities, the BÖ can be supported by other helpers from the local association for a limited time after consultation with its superior, the deputy local representative .

Courses and exams

THW-specific knowledge of public relations can be found in various courses (at the federal level at the THW Federal School with locations in Neuhausen and Hoya and the Federal Armed Forces Academy for Information and Communication in Strausberg) and in the regional associations (e.g. at Siglinde Schneider-Fuchs ) can be purchased.
