THW local association
A local association (OV) of the Technische Hilfswerk (THW) is a location where operational material is housed and serviced, exercises are held and the local administration is active. There are 668 local associations across Germany. They are subordinate to a total of 66 regional offices. a. as service points oversee the local branches as well as ensure that the tasks are completed and the respective local branches are operational.

There is a local representative for each local association , who is supported by the OV staff . These include an administrative officer and a public relations officer who work in the administration. The head of the OV staff is the deputy local representative . The service engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the equipment .
A local association consists of one or more technical trains , each of which consists of a platoon , at least one rescue group and a specialist group . Specialist groups are units that are trained and equipped for special areas of application and that move out with the technical train in the event of an alarm.
financing
Funding for the THW, and thus the local associations, comes from the federal budget. Individual local associations can be supported financially and materially by helper associations . Helper associations also offer their members insurance that goes beyond the services of the UK Bund . For the THW in general as a sponsor, there is also the Technical Aid Foundation .
