Local representative (Federal Agency for Technical Relief)
The local representative (short: OB) is the head of a local branch of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (short: THW). He is responsible for the overall management of the technical relief organization in his area of responsibility. This includes the topics: occupational safety, household, care for the helpers of the local association, public relations, training of the THW units, maintenance and repair of the emergency equipment, as well as the fulfillment of the tasks of the technical relief organization for its area of responsibility. He is advised by the local committee.
The local representative is the disciplinary superior of all helpers in his local association. Furthermore, he is the direct superior of the deputy local representative, who represents him in absentia, and of platoon leaders and other unit leaders of his local association. The regional representative of the respective regional association is responsible for him. The local representative is appointed to his office on behalf of the President of the THW after the selection of a proposal by the extended local committee of the local association.
Deputy local representative
The deputy local representative (StvOB) leads the OV staff and represents the local representative in his absence. He is responsible for the internal service in the local association and for the training and readiness of the OV staff. He also coordinates the cooperation between the local association and youth group . He is appointed by the state representative on the proposal of the local representative . The deputy site representative is represented by the training officer (AB).
In the event of an emergency, the deputy local representative is the head of the LuK staff in the local association. He ensures the alerting , post-alerting, supply and replacement of the OV forces. At the same time, he is in contact with the requester and, if necessary, the higher level in the THW structure.
