Life

Aden grew up in Schortens , passed the Abitur in 1962 at the Mariengymnasium Jever and studied law at the universities of Tübingen , Göttingen and Bonn from 1963 to 1967 . In Tübingen he became a member of the Corps Franconia . After the assessor examination he received his doctorate in Bonn in 1972. In 1971/72 he was Senior Research Officer at the Institute for Comparative Law at the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Menno Aden is married to Patricia Aden, with whom he has five children.

Act

From July 1994 to July 1996 Menno Aden was President of the Upper Church Council of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mecklenburg . In 1998 it became known that proceedings against Aden had been initiated for “ineffectual activity”. By mutual agreement, he had not performed his service since July 1996. At the end of 1999, Aden was finally dismissed from office and retired due to problems in cooperation with all governing bodies of the regional church. Aden successfully sued his dismissal at the competent church court, but the agreement that Aden would not carry out his official business until an agreement was reached on the end of his service, which the Church intended to end, remained.

He later taught at the University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management in Essen until 2007 . In addition to his teaching activities, he wrote numerous papers in the fields of banking, business and international law. He also published theological writings and books on other topics. He is the first translator of the religious- historical epic Kashida by the British writer and traveler Richard Francis Burton . He also translated about a hundred Pushkin poems in his book Pushkin Russia's First Poet .

From 2006 to June 2012 he was a board member of the German Language Association . Until his resignation in 2014, Menno Aden was chairman of the State and Economic Political Society (SWG) in Hamburg .

In 2008 and 2009, Menno Aden regularly wrote articles on commercial law for the weekly newspaper Junge Freiheit . In addition, he regularly gave lectures, for example on the subject of "German Patriotism in Europe Today", at the Citizens' Movement for Germany . In his work on international commercial arbitration, which appeared in its second edition in 2003, Aden speaks of a “traditional German national weakness of the ego” which easily leads to “that a German lawyer tends to think of a self-confident American, especially if he is, as is often the case, of Jewish origin 'Taking the butter off the bread' than vice versa ”.

Aden is the first signatory of the action to stop the left trend . In 2010 he was co-editor of a controversial book on abuse in Germany.

Aden was a member of the Alternative for Germany party and was elected to the Essen City Council for this party in 2014 . On June 18, 2014, Aden resigned from the AfD council group and the party and wanted to join the parliamentary group of the Essen Citizens' Alliance (EBB). However, this was rejected by the EBB.
