Marielouise Jurreit

Marielouise Jurreit (formerly: Marielouise Janssen-Jurreit , born February 1, 1941 in Dortmund ) is a German journalist and writer .

Life

Marielouise Jurreit worked as a journalist for Spiegel , Stern and Brigitte . From 1994 to 1998 she was the managing director of a film distributor . With her book Sexism: About the Abortion of the Women's Question from 1976, which is now considered a fundamental work of the women's movement , she introduced the term “ sexism ” in the German-speaking world. She edited other non-fiction books on women and published two novels . Jurreit now lives in Berlin .
