Accompanying type

As Begleitart in is phytosociology a plant called the phytosociological in the scheme neither characterize nor differentiating properties for binding to a plant community or to a plant sociological syntaxon has, because their deposits amplitude spreads too far. In addition to accompanying types, there are character types and differential types in plant sociology .

The "accompanying type" classification is relative. Whether a plant species is to be regarded as a companion species depends on the plant community or syntaxon considered. Even widely dispersed plant species (e.g. Taraxacum officinale ) are not companion species per se, but can e.g. B. become significant at the edge of their distribution area as a character or differential species.
