Beige Book

The Beige Book (English for beige book ) is an economic report for the United States first produced in 1971 under Arthur F. Burns . It is a compilation of comments from the twelve US regional central banks on current economic conditions in their region. It is eight times a year by the US Federal Reserve Fed published two weeks before the next meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee. The comments consist of assessments by bank directors and surveys of economists, market experts, company leaders and other sources on the current economic situation.
