As the successor to the Beijing BJ-130 bus series , the Beijing BJ6700 was introduced to the Chinese market in 1988 . It offered space for 27 or 31 passengers. The basis was the BJ1061 .

The vehicle length is specified as 6690 mm for the 27-seater and 6970 mm for the 31-seater. 3765 mm wheelbase (SWB) and 3800 mm wheelbase (LWB)

The range of diesel engines includes types 4102BQ, 4BG1 and 4HF1 with an output of 70.6 to 88 kW.

There has been no successor to the BJ6700 to this day. Instead, bus production for the Russian market began a few years later with the BAW Street Line .
