Observation and ABC measuring point
Observation and ABC measuring points (BAMSt) were part of the management in disaster control in accordance with federal standards . So you were part of the civil and civil protection . The observation and NBC measuring points were responsible for reporting the effects of weapons (conventional or NBC weapons use) as well as monitoring the weather for the command staff and the warning service . They also worked closely with the ABC reporting and evaluation offices .
Each observation and ABC measuring point comprised a squad leader and three ABC helpers / drivers (total strength: - / 1/3/4 ). An observation and ABC measuring point had a car . The equipment included a telephone desk set, two field telephones, lights, a compass, telescope , wind speed meter , radiation dosimeter , dose rate meter , detection equipment for chemical agents, a reporting bag as well as writing and map material.
According to the Law for the Reorganization of Civil Protection (ZSNeuOG), this federal concept for an observation and ABC measuring point no longer exists today.
