The Sektkellerei Bernard-Massard is a German beverage manufacturer. The family-run, medium-sized private sparkling wine cellar based in Trier produces and sells sparkling wine , Crémant and non-alcoholic drinks.
history
In 1919, the Luxembourg cellar master Consul Jean Bernard-Massard founded a sparkling wine cellar in Palais Pillishof, first mentioned in 1447 . Thanks to its rococo facade from 1770, this building in the middle of the city center is one of the most important buildings in Trier in terms of art history . To this day, Bernhard-Massard produces his sparkling wine in the cellar vaults of the palace from 1270.
In 1921 Jean Bernard-Massard, with the support of Luxembourg and Belgian wine lovers, also founded a sparkling wine cellar in Grevenmacher in Luxembourg and built a striking wine cellar directly on the banks of the Moselle.
The Sektkellerei Bernard-Massard, Trier was awarded the Federal Honorary Prize in bronze by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture in 2017 on the recommendation of the DLG
Products
The Bernard-Massard company produces sparkling wines from the grape varieties Chardonnay , Riesling , Pinot Blanc and cuvées in various flavors. The sparkling wines are produced in traditional bottle fermentation in the naturally air-conditioned cellars.
In the "Bernard-Massard Sektwelt" in the former red wine cellar, the sparkling wine cellar offers regular events and champagne tastings.
