Bernat Baretja
Bernat Baretja , Spanish also Bernardo Barecha , (* 16th century ; † 17th century ) was a Catalan composer and choirmaster of the Escolania de Montserrat .
Only a few facts have come down to us from Bernat Baretja. For the year 1623 Baretja is proven as master Escolania de Montserrat . According to the Efemérides de músicos españoles (1860) by the musicologist Baltasar Saldoni , Baretja was a good singer and composer.
He was apparently related to the sailor and later monk of Montserrat Miquel Baretja .
