Bert Esselink

Bert Esselink (born 1968) is a Dutch translator and software localization specialist .

Life

He studied at the Hogeschool Zuyd in Maastricht from 1987 and graduated in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in translation studies . He then studied Computational Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam until 1993 . He then worked in the field of software localization at International Software Products and ALPNET, among others. He has been working at Lionbride since 2000, first as a content solution architect and then later as a key account manager. In 2009 he obtained a degree in journalism from the Hogeschool Utrecht.

He is best known for his book A Practical Guide to Localization , which is considered a reference work in the industry and is also used by universities in training.
