Bertelsmann Universal Lexicon

The Bertelsmann Universal Lexicon is a one-volume dictionary from Bertelsmann Verlag . From 1990 to 2011 a new, updated edition was published annually (except in 2010). A predecessor was the Bertelsmann Volkslexikon , which appeared in many editions from 1956 to 1972.

With more than 70,000 key words, it documents backgrounds and facts across a wide range of subject areas. Current topics are also described in the lexicon. Over 3,000 photos, graphics and maps as well as numerous tables and key articles provide additional information.
