The Professional Association of Specialists in Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy in Germany (BPM) is a lobby group for German specialists in psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy . It was founded in Berlin in 1995 .

The association wants to promote cooperation between practice, clinic and science. He represents the specialist group with around 4,000 members in economic interests towards cost bearers.

The association is a member of the Association of Professional Medical Associations (GfB) and the Standing Conference of Medical Psychotherapeutic Associations (stäKo) as well as the Working Group on Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy. The BPM participates in medical self-administration and influences the framework conditions for psychotherapeutic and psychosomatic care at the state and federal level.

Together with the German Society for Psychosomatic Medicine and Medical Psychotherapy (DGPM), the association is developing public relations work to establish psychosomatic medicine. The association holds an annual scientific congress as part of its annual meeting. He supports his members in business and legal issues. The association is available to advise its members on legal questions relating to statutory health insurance and professional ethics, performance audits, remuneration and recourse to pharmaceuticals, employment contracts and further training.

The association is based in Berlin. The chairman is Irmgard Pfaffinger from Munich.
