Special services for the common good

Special services for the common good in the forest are services that the forest owner or manager goes beyond the legal obligations in the sense of the common good e.g. B. in the field of nature conservation or for those seeking relaxation.

Situation in Bavaria

In Bavaria, the Bavarian State Forests provide special services for the common good and pay for them. For measures by other forest owners, grants may be granted under forest or nature conservation law or points on the eco-account .

Article 22, paragraph 4 of the Bavarian Forest Act states: "For the provision of special public welfare services in the state forest that go beyond the requirements of Article 18 paragraph 1 sentences 1, 3 and 4 and sentence 5 numbers 1 to 3 and 5, Grants are to be provided in accordance with the budget available. Such services for the common good are in particular protection forest restoration, protection forest maintenance, peatland renaturation, the provision of separately designated cycling and hiking trails as well as biotope network projects in the forest. "
