Bessemerwerk (Steinhauser Hut)

The Bessemerwerk in the Steinhauser Hütte complex was a steelworks in Witten . It was founded in 1870 and was located on the site of what is now the “Drei Könige” industrial park near Herbeder Strasse and Wannenbach . The company was shut down in 1921 at the latest. On January 30, 2018, foundations were discovered as part of the renovation work on the site and later exposed. The site was placed under a preservation order for six months . A few days earlier, the remains of the adjacent puddle had been exposed.
