history
In 1889 Max Bessey founded a bright steel drawing shop in the Obertürkheim district of Stuttgart . After his death, the company was continued by his nephew Karl Bessey and taken over by Eugen Mayer in 1926, who significantly expanded the production program in the area of dimensions and quality. In 1936, Mayer was a novel malleable - clamp patented and started in addition to the production of clamping tools. Due to the war, a branch was built in Bietigheim in 1944. In 1952 the patent was granted for a tempered all-steel screw clamp.
The company's headquarters are in Bietigheim-Bissingen . Administration, bright steel production, the laboratory, sales and steel logistics are concentrated on the 50,000 m² company premises. Development, production, storage and dispatch of clamping and cutting tools are located around four kilometers north of the main plant in the factory halls of the historic, former worsted spinning mill in Bietigheim .
Bessey Tool is the parent company of the Bessey Group consisting of BESSEY Tool GmbH & Co. KG and BESSEY Precision Steel GmbH with a total of more than 300 employees in two German production companies and the Bessey Tools sales companies in North America .
The products include the Bessey malleable cast iron screw clamp, which has been manufactured since 1936, the Bessey all-steel screw clamp, patented in 1952, and Erdi tin snips . BESSEY Präzisionsstahl GmbH draws high-precision bright steel using the non-cutting cold forming process.
