The honorary title of Best Master was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was awarded in the form of a laurel wreath. It was donated on November 1, 1953 and could be awarded to all masters who performed outstandingly in production or in competition over a long period of time and who had defended the title of Best Master of the Company for at least six months in a row . In the course of time, this award was denied its state character. However, an exact dating has not yet been established.
