Debt enforcement holidays

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Debt enforcement holidays are a period of time during which no debt enforcement actions may be carried out in Switzerland .

The enforcement holidays last from 7 days before to 7 days after Easter and Christmas , and from July 15 to July 31. If a deadline expires during the debt collection holiday, the deadline is extended to the 3rd working day after the end of the debt collection holiday.

In attachment proceedings in urgent measures to preserve assets and in exchange prosecution , there is no prosecution holidays. A debt enforcement act carried out during the debt enforcement holiday is neither void nor contestable, rather it only takes legal effect after the debt enforcement holiday.
