Movement notation is a writing system that makes it possible to record the movements of the human body on paper.

The most moving writings were for the ballet and ballroom dancing developed. However, Rudolf von Laban also tried to record the movements of industrial workers in order to optimize processes. The labanotation claims for itself to be able to play all human movements from the grips of an assembly line worker to the movements of an astronaut in zero gravity.

Today, movements are often recorded and recorded by computers (see Movement Detection ).
