Bexleyheath and Crayford (constituency)
Bexleyheath and Crayford is a constituency in London for the British House of Commons . The constituency was created for the British General Election in 1997 in its current form and is located in the London Borough of Bexley in east London. He sends a representative to parliament.
history
The constituency was created from the former constituencies of Bexleyheath and Erith and Crayford and has been represented in Parliament by Sir David Evennett , a member of the Conservative Party , since the British general election in 2005 . Before the constituency was founded, he had been the MP for the constituency of Erith and Crayford since the 1983 general election . Evennett ran both in the 1997 general election , as in the 2001 general election , for the seat of Bexleyheath and Crayford , but was defeated by the Labor Party candidate , Nigel Beard . He finally defeated this in 2005.
The constituency had an unemployment rate of 3.3% in April 2013, which is slightly lower than the national average of 3.8%.
